The purpose of the event is to create space for the
Indigi-queer and two spirit community, as they are one of the most underserved queer and indigenous communities.
This event is open to all, but it is a celebration of the chosen family. For Two Spirit and LGBTQ+ people, the bonds between friends can be liberating and transformative.
A chosen family is a “nonbiological kinship bonds, whether legally recognized or not, deliberately chosen for the purpose of mutual support and love.”
The message we want to send with this event is that at IHC’s two spirit group – or IHC as a whole understands you, will lift you up, celebrate you, help you, and love everyone, even without biological ties.
